i just finished looking through the circuit overseer manual, so here are some highlights.

Give it to an alert brother who since it is his first time will probably make a mess of it. I mean the ones in my old KH couldn't work the video machines and even had trouble selecting the right songs to start the meeting. UNLESS they were sabotaging the meetings I hadn't thought of that before!

the other day i went out with my sister.
This is sort of the reverse to that.
We were told of a person who moved into our housing estate and had a window cleaner come to do her windows. As he was putting out his ladders he banged his arm and came out with a few F**ks.
This woman was shocked and said "I didn't think Jehovah's Witnesses swore."
"I'm not a Jehovah's Witness," said the window cleaner.
"Really?" said the woman, "I was under the impression that you must be. In fact I thought virtually every window cleaner in the county was. Because all of the Jehovah's I have ever met clean windows when they are not out knocking doors."

I am more concerned with my deteriorating health, and my poor finances. I just want to live a normal life for a few more years.
i have been sad to see so many groups and individuals say that the cause of these events are the mental status of the shooters.
i have looked over the backgrounds of these shooters, and few had medically identified mental health issues.
it is too easy to think that people shoot or kill other people because they are mentally ill.. actually, many or most people with real mental illnesses are most likely to be the victims of others.. i have been a volunteer with the organization called nami (national alliance of mental lillness) for 25 years now.
If mental health alone led to violent gun crime it'd be seen as a global problem. Strangely it isn't.

But closing branches or bethels is not necessarily the same as selling the property. The one in Ireland ceased as a Bethel Home but is now used as a translation centre and a location for their new Kingdom Evangelisers training hub. The Bethelites have been thrown out onto the streets and the Bethel might have finished its role as the Ireland branch office but the building is still in use. Just saying.

Interestingly (although elsewhere he says he is not being dogmatic but only suggesting) Mr Oppy concluded that the Kingdom of God would be established on the 20th day of September 1945.

probably the irish ones actually, truly, made a loss, but think of all the travelling, including a flight or sea ferry crossing if i am correct.
Ireland already had its convention on the 2nd week of July. A time when the chosen hotel charges their highest summer rates and queues for food are literally out of the doors. I heard that if you went you had to take all your breakfast items off the buffet table at the same time, so by the time you got to your cooked breakfast it was stone cold. The hotel also I was told charge all children over the age of 2 as adult rates.
This is why a lot of Irish JWs find it cheaper to go to our English conventions in Newcastle, Manchester, and yes probably Birmingham, because even with the airfares added on it works out cheaper than what the WT has organised with one of the most expensive hotels in the Dublin area.
